The Spanish Horse in Dressage
The spanish horse in dressage competition has earned respect, and a place in many hearts.
Bambu XX, purebred spanish horse now training, showing and available for breeding in the UK, had a privileged start to his dressage career in Spain.
With classical bloodlines to his credit,
he trained first with his owner - an experienced horseman, then spent a year with Emilio, graduate rider of the Royal School of Equestrian Art in Jerez de la Frontera.
Emilio visited us for the BAPSH National PRE Breed Show, 2008.

The third show on the circuit was at Estepona, across on the Mediterranean coast.
Completely different judges, all breeds, dressage.
Bambu scored consistently at 64-65 - again, no horse achieved more than 67.
Video 5 shows him in the ring at Montenmedio - calm and focused.
July 2007
The second show was pure dressage, held at the large showgrounds of Montenmedio, with entrants from all over Spain. All breeds were competing, not just the PRE's. Different judges, and Bambu's scores were around 64, the top score was 67.
Video 4 - taken at this second show - is typical Bambu. In preparation he is concentrating, working well and looking very grown up.
June 2007
Bambu's first dressage show in Spain was among other Pure Spanish horses of his age group. The classes spanned 5 days, and were judged on morphology - conformation according to breed standards -, and on dressage.
His scores were 67-68, and he finished the week with the trophy for third place overall in his age group, out of 27 contestants.

His overall attitude in this first circuit was absolute
Bambu - so laid back it was funny! He worked well, travelled well, settled in wherever he was. He warmed up without worrying about the other horses, and presented
consistent focused tests.
Bambu continues his dressage training as a PRE in the UK.
